Portugal is to be found on the western part of the Istrian Peninsular and borders Spain to the north and east. The Atlantic dominates its west coast and the popular south coast of the Algarve .

From the Costa Verde region in the north to the Algarve in the south, this friendly country offers a wide range of attractions for the discerning visitor. With mountains, plateaux and plains, a warm summer climate, vineyards, windmills, orange groves, and a Mediterranean climate, all these point to a country which provides entertainment and relaxation on all levels to all types of visitors. 

For the sports enthusiasts, there are a wide range of activities from golf, windsurfing and horse riding amongst many others on offer. The choice of accommodation is endless, ranging from villas and apartments to hotels of all sizes. For those who love their food and wine there are lots of great restaurants offering fantastic seafood cuisine with some of the finest wines in the area.

Cultural and city breaks are a great way to ‘pinpoint’ your visit by concentrating on just one place at a time, and this opens up the possibility of many more visits to the whole country, but in bitesize pieces.

For those who wish spend time away from the sport and beaches there are well appointed shopping malls and local markets offering a range of goods from high quality leather goods to handmade items. One item to look out for is the brightly painted Portuguese plate; these vary in design from north to south, but are a worthy memento of your stay in such a charming country.
