Standing at the gateway to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, Longitude 131° is the closest accommodation to the red rock formation that is Uluru, Australia’s most endearing and enduring icon.

An intimate fifteen luxury tents, elevated atop rust-red dunes, complement the pristine natural environment and provide a private place to rest, relax and refresh. In the crisp, white linen of a King sized bed, find the serene, silent sleep of the desert. Above the sweeping tent canopy floats a great expanse of Southern sky, endless and sparkling. Location and Transfers

Longitude 131° is situated on a sand dune close to the border of the World Heritage listed Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, just 6km from Ayers Rock Airport.
A complimentary return 4wd transfer will take you from Ayers Rock Airport to Voyages Longitude 131°, the short transfer meets every scheduled flight and takes 10 minutes. Ground access to Longitude 131° is via Ayers Rock Resort, located a short distance away.

Accommodation

Resembling a sophisticated version of an explorer’s tent from a bygone era, 15 luxurious pavilions nestle in the desert between Uluru and Kata Tjuta. Featuring one entirely class wall providing unparalleled private vistas of the fabled icon, you ‘own’ your exclusive view. Nothing distracts or intrudes.

A white dome roof and flowing fabric draped from the centre create the illusion of camping and each of the elevated tents pays homage to an early Australian pioneer or explorer with an eclectic mix of classical colonial and contemporary furniture pieces. But unlike the early pioneers, the experience is one of sublime comfort. The flick of a bedside switch is all it takes to raise the blinds and watch the spectacular moods of Uluru at sunrise and sunset.

Meticulously designed to remain cool in summer and warm in winter, interiors span 40m² and comprise a palatial sleeping and lounge space, comfortably filled with turn of the century campaign-style furnishings and an intriguing array of artefacts. A spacious ensuite bathroom with oversized rain shower features a moving wall panel, so as the spectacular view may be enjoyed from every angle. All tents feature King beds with superior cotton linens, telephone, safe, wireless internet and the modern essential of climate control. Bathrobes are provided along with daily housekeeping and signature evening turndown service. Complimentary in-suite bar, iPad with entertainment and MP3 input complete the ultimate ‘glamping’ experience.

Dining

Longitude 131° offers the best of contemporary Australian cuisine, celebrating a fusion of modern and indigenous flavours.

Dine and relax in the earth-toned Dune House, the heart of Longitude 131°, with its panoramic views and dramatic domed roof. Breakfast begins early with freshly baked pastries, fruit and a la carte menu selection. Premium espresso coffee and a generous selection of fine leaf teas are signature elements. After a morning filled with walks, or simply spent relaxing with a book by the pool, appetites are up for lunch.The three course menu offers a selection of seasonal treats and is deceptively light, leaving room for afternoon tea served to coincide with departure of the afternoon activity. A selection of Australian and international cheeses and homemade lavosh are provided on tour.

Dinner is a superb dining experience, be it under the canopy of the Dune House or a billion stars at Table 131°. The daily changing four course menu is decadently refined, showcasing the riches of Australian produce. The Longitude 131° wine list features varietals from Australia’s finest wine regions.

Private dining is also available on the Dune Top or poolside. (Outdoor dining is subject to weather and outdoor conditions permitting).
