After this uplifting and often private experience visit the temple grounds and the famous 45-metre reclining Buddha. Continue to The Grand Palace, Thailand’s most important landmark, where you will be awed by the grandeur and majesty of the building and its throne halls. Then, of course, marvel at the mysterious Emerald Buddha, the most revered Buddha image in Thailand.

A sumptuous Thai lunch awaits you at Supatra River House.

In the afternoon, board a private retro boat cruising down the River of Kings, the Chao Phraya and the quiet klongs (canals) for 2 hours,  you will be taken back in time to a more traditional way of life far removed from Bangkok’s modern skyscrapers. Stops are made to visit the Temple of Dawn or Wat Arun – one of the most prominent landmarks of Bangkok in whose spire is an ineffable symbol of the “City of Angels”. We then drive you to Chinatown square where you start an interesting walk through one of the oldest parts of Bangkok. Walk along Yaowarat Road where you visit interesting shops selling bird’s nests and shark fins, continue to a very old teashop to enjoy a cup of Chinese tea with the locals before heading down Trok Leng Moi Eia  (a small alley) to Talad Kao for an interesting local market with variety of fresh foods, fresh & dry fruits, Chinese herbs, groceries. End the walk at Wat Leng Nei Yee and visit the Taoist temple. Return to your hotel late afternoon.

Your day starts at Wat Saket where you can acquire some spiritual insights into Buddhism as the monks chant their morning prayers. Partake in the offering of alms to the monks to gain some blessing for a healthy and safe trip. Then make a short climb up to the temple’s golden mount to enjoy the panoramic view of Rattanakosin Island while listening to the chimes of hundreds of temple bells. Continue with a drive through the historical part of Bangkok, passing some of the city’s most beautiful landmarks and temples. Along the way, we will make a stop to buy a bucket filled with food and utility items for “Sangkatarn” – a special kind of offering for monks at Wat Ratchabophit. Visitors to Wat Ratchabophit will be amazed by the perfect blend of Thai architectural exterior with exquisite European influenced interior. The tour will cap off at the Tiger God Shrine, one of the oldest Taoist temples in Bangkok and renowned for being the most popular worshipping place amongst the Chinese community in the country.

A lavish Thai lunch is exclusively served at the elegant Jim Thompson Restaurant.  You may wish to visit Jim Thompson museum and their shops afterwards.

Then go to the historic Wat Jed Yod and continue to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep which is a sacred temple in northern Thailand set high on a mountain on the outskirts of Chiang Mai. The local guide will explain the story of the temple and show its impressive chedi and beautiful murals.

Upon arrival, we will make the arrangement of the “Lanna” Thai traditional wedding. You will be dressed in “Lanna” wedding costumes, followed by the morning wedding ceremony with the parade from the groom with trays of gifts and flowers. Then you will get your soul (aka ‘Kwan’ in Thai) enlightened in order to establish your happy marriage life. Continue the private blessing ceremony by the head monk. While the sweet scent of incense fills the air, the monk will bless you with water and tie a symbolically ‘binding’ string around your wrists. End the ceremony by planting a love tree before returning to your hotel.

After the ceremony, enjoy your “Khao Soy” lunch at the house. Khao Soy is curry noodles from its street food status to its rightful place as the signature dish of northern Thai cuisine. If the change is material (for example, a change of flight time by more than 12 hours, change of destination or to a lower standard of accommodation), we will notify you as soon as practically possible and offer you the choice of (i) accepting alternative arrangements or (ii) arranging an alternative holiday with us or (iii) cancelling your holiday. Compensation or refunds will not be payable in any cases where an amendment, change or cancellation is due to “force majeure”, being unusual or unforeseeable events or circumstances beyond our control, the consequences of which neither we nor our suppliers could avoid. These include, but are not limited to, war, threat of war, riot, civil disturbance or strife, terrorist activity (actual or threatened), industrial disputes, technical or maintenance problems with transport, machinery or equipment, power failure, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, flood, drought, adverse weather conditions, levels of water in rivers, closure of airports, changes of schedules or operational decisions of transport providers.

Compensation is not payable if a holiday or tour does not take place because a required minimum number of passengers to enable the holiday or tour to take place has not been reached and you were informed of that requirement at the time of booking.

All prices advertised or quoted are subject to change, up or down, until the booking is concluded. After that, we will only increase the price in limited circumstances to reflect increases in transportation costs (including fuel and airfares), dues, taxes (including VAT), fees chargeable for services (including landing taxes and embarkation and disembarkation and security fees at airports), Government action or exchange rate variation. If the surcharge would increase the cost of your holiday by 10% or more, you may cancel and receive a full refund (except insurance premiums). We will, in any event, absorb the first 2% of any increase. No surcharges will be made within 30 days of departure. As we have a very diverse range of products purchased at different times, we will inform you of the purchasing exchange rate if any surcharge is due to adverse currency fluctuation.

We take care to ensure that all involved in the preparation and supply of your holiday maintain the highest standards.

(a) We will pay reasonable compensation (subject to (c) below) if the product supplied to you is not of the standard described or contracted for by you. This compensation will be limited (except in the case of death or injury) to no more than three times the holiday cost attributable to the complaint.

(b) If you suffer death or personal injury as a result of any part of your holiday contract, we will (subject to (c) below) accept responsibility and will pay compensation. We incorporate into this contract and claim to the benefit of any limitation of liability provided for in any international treaty or convention which governs any part of your holiday arrangements, including but not limited to, air, sea, and rail travel and hotel accommodation.

(c) Our liability to you does not apply if you or any member of your group is at fault; if the failure is the fault of someone else not connected with providing the services which form part of our holiday contract with you; the failure is due to any unusual or unexpected circumstances beyond our control, which we could not have avoided even if we had used all care possible, or the failure is due to any event which we or the supplier of any service could not help, expect or prevent.

(d) Any acceptance of liability is subject to you agreeing to assign to us your rights against any third party responsible for the events leading to your claim and to you affording us all necessary assistance in pursuing that claim.

(a) If you have any complaint or problem whilst on holiday you must inform us, our representatives or the supplier as soon as possible to give us the maximum opportunity to rectify it. It is unreasonable to take no action whilst on holiday and then write a letter of complaint on return. Any unresolved complaints must be notified to us in writing within 30 days of your return.

(b) It is your responsibility to ensure that all necessary passport, visa, vaccination and other health documents are in order.  We will provide you with a list of relevant requirements.

(c) It is your responsibility to arrange suitable personal travel insurance cover. We will provide you with details of a suitable policy.  If you decide not to take this, you must provide us with details of your own cover before departure. We reserve the right not to issue travel documents in the absence of this information.

Whilst we will endeavor to comply with any special requests such as airline seating, diets, room requirements, we can only do so on a “goodwill” basis.
