It is intimate, romantic and completely beautiful.

Location and Transfers

Reef is located in the small unspoilt seaside hamlet of Wadduwa on the south west coast of Sri Lanka.
The drive from Bandaranaike International Airport takes approximately 90 minutes.

The seven elegant suites are immense and feature unique antique romantic four-poster canopied beds together with soaring ceilings lined with Kerala terracotta tiles that give a feeling of relaxed grandeur.

The furniture is a combination of original Campaign antique pieces and beautifully crafted items based on furniture as used by members of the East India Company.

The highly decorated antique Calcutta four-poster beds were constructed for the British Raj and their families from the 1840’s and together with the antique electric fans and ceiling fixed punkah fans, enhance the fabulous Colonial style.

The contemporary Bharat hand-crafted coloured floor tiles, replicating the famous encaustic tiles, invented by 12th Century monks, are the legacy of the magnificent decorative floors which were so popular in the Colonies from the end of the nineteenth century. They are beautiful and cool underfoot.

There are soft 400 hundred thread count cotton sheets and pillow cases, lightweight cotton dressing gowns, the fluffiest of towels and complimentary slippers.

The bathrooms are incomparable; they feature a fabulous free-standing, hand carved granite bath tub, twin carved granite vanity basins, a gorgeous rain shower with polished granite shower screen – testament of fine Indian craftsmanship and also feature an immense and stunning Venetian style mirror.

In the bathroom you will find a selection from an exquisite array of beauty products by Kama Ayurveda of India, guaranteed to pamper your body.

The suites have various spacious shaded verandas for private dining and relaxation, perfect for a well deserved sun-downer.

The suites are named after the famed water flowers of Sri Lanka. Please call to discuss your requirements
