The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur was built in 1932 to cater to the affluent and it was the first hotel to offer modern comforts by way of hot and cold water, showers and long baths.
In its heydays, The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur played host to the great and the good of the country as well as International Jetsetters.
The hotel is divided into two – the original building is referred to as the Majestic Wing, with all the ambience of a bygone era. The more modern part of the hotel is called the Tower Wing. Both parts of the hotel are interconnected so that guests can enjoy the facilities on either side.
Location and Transfers
The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur is located opposite the Kuala Lumpur railway station, on a hillside.
Travelling from Kuala Lumpur International Airport by road takes around an hour or more convenient is to take the airport express train which takes around 28 minutes into Kuala Lumpur Sentral Station. Sentral Station is located 2km from the hotel.
The Majestic Wing of the hotel comprises of 47 luxurious suites whilst the Tower Wing has 253 guest rooms and suites.

Between the two wings of the hotel there are 6 restaurants and bars to choose from.
Contango – A contemporary restaurant featuring open kitchens with an interactive dining concept in the Tower Wing. The 250 seater restaurant offers Western as well as Far Eastern cuisine. The wine cellar is extensive with around 2,000 bottles in its collection.
The Colonial Cafe – An authentic colonial era decor, the Cafe provides cuisine of the era. Plush red leather chairs, crisply starched white tablecloths and timber paneling reinforce the colonial feel. Located in the Majestic Wing, it seats 120 both indoors as well as in outdoor covered courtyards.
The Bar – The Bar is a central focus in the Majestic Wing with dark panels, mirrors and brass, and where you can enjoy a Stengah, Gin Pahit or Sling just like the planters of old. The gold-leafed domed ceiling is an original feature of the historic hotel. Come nightfall, nostalgia fills the air as the descendants of the legendary Maestro Alfonso Soliano, a family whose musical traditions date well back into the nation’s history, entertain with their classic renditions.
Tea Lounge – The elegant Tea Lounge in the Majestic Wing is open to the breezes off the lawn fronting the hotel. The old-fashioned grid ceilings feature classic cut-glass lighting with antique brass fittings. Cosy arrays of comfortable arm chairs with subdued lighting from table lamps provide the perfect setting for English Afternoon Tea with a Malaysian twist.
The Orchid Conservatory – Showcasing a hanging garden and orchidscape within a glass atrium, this botanical wonder is the only one of its kind in the country. The Orchid Conservatory features a seasonal range of phalaenopsis orchids; with thousands of stunning large-petaled blooms displayed in a re-creation of their natural habitat. As the seasons progress, so do the variety of orchids on display.
Bookings may be made to enjoy Afternoon Tea, intimate lunches or celebratory dinners for up to 15 persons in this gorgeous setting.
